SERVICE WORKER

THE POSITION:
Under direct supervision, perform a variety of duties
supporting office and warehouse staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Processes all incoming and outgoing mail, distributes to the
appropriate departments; delivers and picks up mail from Post Office, District
sites and other agencies daily; utilizes equipment necessary to process mail.
Drives District vehicle on errands for District's business; delivers and picks
up vehicles for repairs to service stations. Assists Warehouse Coordinator in
the daily operations of the warehouse; operates equipment in use at the
warehouse, issues supplies and equipment to District staff, stores records.
Operates office equipment such as copy machine, telephone. Repairs and
maintains office equipment and furniture. Must be able to stand for extended periods,
have hearing and vision within normal ranges, and lift up to 50 pounds.
EDUCATION:
Any combination of education and/or experience that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance. Example combinations include equivalent to graduation from high school and six months experience in clerical work.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL LEVEL:
Basic knowledge of general maintenance and repair of equipment and tools; basic math skills, ability to drive District vehicles; safe work practices and procedures and ability to communicate in writing and verbally. Should be able to organize and prioritize duties in a changing workload. Possession of a valid Class C California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
