The following outdoor water uses are prohibited:
Know your watering days:
NOTE: The watering day restrictions do not apply to low flow drip irrigation (emitter must apply 2 gallons of water per hour or less), use of a hand-held bucket or a hand-held hose equipped with an automatic shut-off nozzle, or sites using recycled water.
Example: Your front lawn is zone/station/valve 1 on your controller. In August, you’ll schedule Zone 1 to water 3 days a week, with 2 start times (e.g. 4am & 6am). You’ll schedule it to water 4 minutes for each start time.
This equals 24 minutes in a week in August: 3 days per week X 2 start times X 4 minutes per start time. This video explains the concept:
A watering guide is also available at www.bewaterwise.com to help homeowners individualize their irrigation controller (timer) settings. This guide is based on plant material, soil type and location (zip code). Irrigation demands vary with the weather (season), plant material and soil conditions.
