Las Flores, CA (November 10, 2008) – On November 4th, residents within the Santa Margarita Water District’s service area voted to keep three current Directors on the District’s five member Board of Directors. Charley Wilson and Betty Olson were re-elected, while Bill Lawson, was elected to his first full term on the Board.

Lawson was appointed to the Board in April 2008 to fill the seat left vacant following the passing of long-time director Sam Johnson. Wilson, the Board’s sitting Engineering Committee chairman, and Betty Olson, currently serving as treasurer, have both served multiple terms on the Board.

SMWD’s Board of Directors is composed of five directors who are elected to four-year terms by residents living within the District’s service area. The Board meets every fourth Wednesday at 7 p.m. at District headquarters. SMWD invites residents to attend its monthly Board meetings and view the meeting agendas that are posted on the District’s Web site, www.SMWD.com.
