SoCal Water$mart Program:
Residential Indoor/Outdoor Rebates and Programs

Starting June 1, 2010, a limited number of rebates will be available through the SoCal Water$mart program for Southern California customers. Changes have been made to the program in order to promote installation of water-saving devices while working within a reduced budget.

Key changes to SoCal WaterSmart program as of June 1, 2010, include:

  • Limited funding is provided by the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and MWDOC, and submitting a rebate application does not guarantee you will receive a rebate. Rebates will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is exhausted.

  • Rebate applications are available online only.

  • Rebate reservations are not required.

  • Only original receipts will be accepted as proof of purchase.

  • Rebate applications and proof of purchase must be postmarked no later than 60 days after purchase.

  • Some devices or products may no longer be eligible for rebate, and rebate amounts are subject to change.

  • Rebates for synthetic turf have been discontinued.

  • High-efficiency toilet rebates are no longer part of the regional program. A minimum of 25 rotating nozzles must be purchased per application to be eligible for the rebate.

  • Rotating nozzles are no longer required to be installed with matching pressure regulating devices.

  • Some rebate amounts have changed.

  • Rebate checks will be issued only to the residential water customer directly.

  • Purchases made prior to June 1, 2010 are ineligible for MWD region-wide rebates.

  • Rebate amounts may vary depending on local water agency participation.
