Should the SMWD Board of Directors approve plans for the Upper Chiquita Reservoir, construction would likely commence later in the year. Engineers anticipate that (pending timely approval) the reservoir will be operational prior to the next scheduled shutdown of the Diemer Filtration Plant in Yorba Linda in 2010.

Completion of the reservoir is expected to take 26 months and would include reservoir site development, piping installation, chemical storage construction and pump station construction.

It is estimated that 25 to 60 workers will be employed during construction activities.
