Your Drinking Water Meets or Exceeds Cleanliness Standards

Lab (16)

Delivering safe drinking water is at the heart of the Santa Margarita Water District’s mission; it’s drinking water continues to meet or exceed all standards set by the state and federal governments. 100% of the District’s drinking water is imported from Northern California and the Colorado River. It is treated, tested, and certified by SMWD’s supplier, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. At the same time, SMWD continuously monitors the water in its distribution system to ensure the highest quality. In fact, each year, over 5,000 water
samples are taken throughout the service area by SMWD laboratory staff.

Santa Margarita Water District prepares an annual Water Quality Report for customers to share the results of water quality testing from the previous calendar year. It explains where your water comes from, what it contains, and how it compares to federal and state regulatory standards. The 2018 report is available online at smwd.com/2018WaterQuality

If you would like a printed copy of the 2018 Water Quality Report mailed to you or would like to speak with someone about the report, please call (949) 459-6420 or
email customercare@smwd.com.

Santa Margarita Water District is proud to serve its customers safe, reliable drinking water 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
