1. What is a flow monitoring device?

Flow monitoring devices measure and report water use in real-time to your smart device. These devices can be used to create your own water budgets and can alert you to leaks that can go unnoticed. Some devices simply strap to the existing SMWD water meter, and others can be professionally installed in-line with the water pipes to allow emergency shut off capabilities. 

2. When do I apply for a rebate?

Applicant must install and activate device prior to submitting rebate application. Inspections may be performed to ensure the device has been installed and activated. Visit our rebates page for more information: www.smwd.com/rebates 

3. What if my device shows a different volume of water being used than my water bill?

Flow monitor readings will sometimes not match the total monthly reads from the water meter, which are read in different units with read dates that may not coincide with the calendar month. You will be billed for water consumption based only on measurements from the SMWD water meter.
